Unread Shelf: February 2, 2022

I am a couple of days behind on my monthly book posts, so I might go ahead and do January’s Monthly Reads later today. I swear that I actually read books this month. This is insane.

  1. I read The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina in January, and it is AMAZING, if you are a fan of magical realism. It is beautifully written, and I love the characters. The third act gets a little hectic as everything come together and is revealed\explained, but that is a common reaction for me. In terms of tone, feeling, and atmosphere, I had serious flashbacks to The House of the Spirits by Isalbel Allende, which was a pivotal book in my reading life many years ago.
