  1. At first when it came out I really hated it. I’ve been using it a while now and find that it is actually very good. I still skip to the old view every day because it rapidly gives me a quick thumbnail and has a bit more history, but I can actually get more data from the new one, just not at a glance.

    1. Not being snarky: what new data? I like that I can see comments and likes, but that’s all I can think of that’s new, and I don’t want that at the expense of having to look at two different graphs for pageviews/visitors, or the stupid one-column format. Have I missed something?

      1. See likes and comments are huge because I trust them for data more than views. I set up several dummy accounts for testing and have found that if you read something from the Reader without going to the page it doesn’t show up as a view. Views from my phone app don’t show up. I typically get twice as many likes and sometimes more comments than views.

Click on weeks. Now click on a specific week, say Oct. 27. You quickly get data for it, like the top posts (you can go to view all), what was posted that week, what the referrals were for the week, etc. Click on Months and you can do the same thing, see all of data for that month. If you’ve been blogging for years you can do the same thing. Maybe you could do that with the old version, but I only discovered it here – I once wanted to see how many views I had the day before and the hover didn’t work so I clicked on it. All of the data showed up. I went to the day before, then the week before and sure enough it was there.

It also shows me the last few people who started following me so i don’t have to click on the following button and wait a year for it to show up.

Anyway, just a few things i like.

          1. Doesn’t on mine. I just went to the old stats page, clicked on weeks and moused over Oct. 27. It gives me views and visitors. It doesn’t show me all of the other stuffs (countries, referrers, clicks, search engines, etc.) that week. Everything below is still from today, not from the week of Oct 27. I clicked on it. Still nothing.

I went back to days. I moused over Wednesday. It gave me a little more information, but it didn’t tell me the top pages, countries, clicks or referrers. It doesn’t change all of those things below, those things still stayed on the current day. I clicked on it and it brought me to another page with a little more information, but not much. I had to go back from that page. The new one gives a lot more and doesn’t send you off to another page.

I still go to the old stats page for a quick summery and I like the calendar view. The new page is, in my opinion, much more powerful.

              1. I think they should keep both and let people choose which to use as a default. Some people might like the new “New Post” better, but I’m used to the old one and it comes up as my default. They should do the same with Stats but allow easy access between the two.

  2. I hate it, and it doesn’t work at all on iOS devices. You just get a blank page. I have to open the funky new version of dashboard and pick the link there.

I also hate the new way they handle likes, follows, and comments. I want to be able to open a seperate page for this.

  3. I hate it, Grammar Bird (the carved wooden raven on my desk) hates it, and my cats aren’t too fond of it, either, because the more difficult it is for me to find things on the screen, the less patience I have with feline butt blocking that screen.

  4. I hate it too. It got rid of the countries (I think) and definitely got rid of the search terms which were both helpful and occasionally hilarious. I always switch back to the old view.
But also change is hard and maybe someday I’ll get used to it. I don’t HATE the new notifications. They’re not my favorite, but I’ll deal with those.

      1. Note that I didn’t know because I haven’t spent enough time on the new stats page to even understand it. I’m just so put off by how it looks and how long the page is.
