The house is clean, at least to the extent that if strangers enter it they would not wonder how we live here and still maintain our basic humanity. I can live with that.

I vacuumed up dog hair today and did 4 loads of laundry. I have teacher meetings tomorrow, and school starts Wednesday. That is as clean as my house will get for a few weeks. I left the vacuum in the middle of the floor to make it easier to vacuum up dog hair tumbleweeds occasionally.

I actually rescheduled my new indulgence- a housekeeper for Thursday because my apartment is such a wreck, I really don’t know where she would start. I have to do a pre-cleaning for my cleaning lady.
