How is the Robert Jackson Bennett series? I really enjoyed the first two Founders Trilogy books, but have been struggling with Locklands… the magic has become too handwave-y.

I’ve really enjoyed it. It doesn’t look like I’ve reviewed either of them, but they’re Sherlock Holmesey with a significantly crazier Sherlock and a very biopunk world. They’re also both pretty stand-alone so if you just picked up the first one you’ll get a complete story.
