First of all, SKYLIGHTS just got its fifth review, and it’s a five-star:
Thanks, AZFan!
Second: A certain science fiction writer who I am fond of and is enormously more successful than me, to the point where it’s ludicrous to compare us (he’s “more successful than me” the same way the Sun is “bigger than Cleveland”) has a habit of posting pictures of the (many) books that people and various publishing companies send to him on his website. People look at the stack and go “Oh, hey, that one looks cool,” in the comments, and that’s the whole post.
Whaddya think: Worth the postage to send him a copy of SKYLIGHTS?

I know of whom you speak and do not think you could go wrong doing so.
I just bought Skylights. Your post got my attention and curiosity at the perfect time. I’ll add it to my review list.
Thank you! I hope you like it!
Definitely worth the postage to send him a copy of Skylights.
Yes. Why would you even ask? 😛
Do it! Couldn’t you just iLid it to him?
Yes!
As long as that meets his super clear cut rules (which I totally get why he has), then of course do it. But if he has a Thing about it and it doesn’t meet his rules, he seems mallet-y enough (again, I think understandably) to make it not worth it.
His rules for sending him stuff appear to be “Go ahead, just don’t expect me to do anything with it.” Basically all I’m hoping for is to get the title in front of some eyeballs in that stack of books he does every couple of weeks, maybe with a couple of strategically placed “Hey, I liked this!” people willing to comment on the thread. 🙂 I was worried that he doesn’t do indie books, but there was a book in the most recent file that was definitely self-published, so I think I’m good on that account. I just don’t qualify for the Big Idea posts, sadly.
