That was fun

I just spent an hour or so in a word sprint with four other WordPress folks– Winter Bayne,  Sourcerer, E.B. Thompson, and Darla Denton— on Twitter.  Basically we were giving ourselves fifteen minutes to write and then comparing word counts and yapping at each other in between rounds.  I got about 1700 words farther into the new novel in 45 minutes of actual writing time, which is awesome.

Anyway, I just wanted to say “thank you” to everybody involved and say that I can’t wait to do it again.  Maybe not on a weekday night next time, though.  🙂

No thank you for joining! They did it on a weekday night for me. I work weekend nights. We can certainly fiddle with the timing and schedule if it becomes a regular thing. It is certainly regular during November Nanowrimo. I’m doing July Camp Nanowrimo, so it will be regular then too. Whenever you want, give a shout out. We’ll try to put it together. Invite others too.

Again thanks! And I look forward to read the piece you sent. Whatcha got planned over the summer?

  2. Wow, 1700 words is fantastic. Twitter friends recently introduced me to something similar via the #wordmongering tag. The sprints are generally 30 minutes, we share word counts, not much talk about what was written, but it’s a very good motivator.
