OK, this is making me hungry AND homesick. I’m from Alabama, where biscuits and gravy are considered mighty fine Southern cuisine (right up there with cornbread). We will eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snacks, and never get sick of it. True story. While I make wonderful cornbread the right way in a cast-iron skillet, I cannot make biscuits and gravy worth a damn. Nor can anyone, it seems, here in Canada, where I’ve been for 10 years (I married a Canuck). I’ve not been back home for a visit since 2010, so please (PRETTY PLEASE!!! )DO share your recipe! 🙂 And there is no such thing as too spicy a gravy to me.
I did French Toast. Of course I used actual French bread and dried it out properly overnight. Mmmm
