Are reorders on Amazon really so common that that button needs to be next to books now? Am I using it wrong?

Not unless they’re hoping people like the book so much that they order copy(ies) for friends? I know I actually have friends that read, but I also have a lot that would not know what to do with a physical book.

ROFL … Love it. Yes, I liked a book so much that after I read it once, I immediately went out and bought it again – so I could read it again.
