Birthday sale!

I’m 40!  Buy stuff:

Suddenly I’m bright and breezy

True colors are beginning to pop, as I had a couple of kids end up with their first steps toward an office referral today, but both were in my afternoon class, meaning that my morning remains stubbornly angelic.  They all beat me to the classroom this morning (this will be a regular thing, as my morning duty means that I follow the last group of kids upstairs) and they were all in one quiet line outside my classroom when I got there.  I don’t know what to do with them.  They’re too good, and I’ve never said that about a class before.

Also had my first lice check today.  The girl wanted me to look through her hair, an opportunity I declined, but at least she was honest enough to admit it had been an issue in the past.  The nurse was unable to find anything and diagnosed her with mild psoriasis, which I assume she prefers to the lice.  I spent most of my afternoon sitting with my paraprofessional and figuring out IEPs so that I can stop breaking the law every afternoon, which so far has been happening just about every day so far.

I need to have all of their names down cold by tomorrow.  I’ve got my homeroom 90% locked, at least when they’re in the room with me, but because of how our schedule works right now I have an extra hour with them every day which makes it a lot easier.  So far I don’t have a lot of specific stories but I’m sure those are coming.  Pretty soon I need to get back on the horse about the books, both of which have been languishing for several weeks. I’d like to have Searching for Malumba out in October, which means it needs to be ready to go within a month or so.  (And, dammit! I had a subtitle for it last night and it’s gone.  I knew I should have written it down.)

The book sale is still live; Skylights and The Sanctum of the Sphere are both $2.99 at Amazon until tonight or tomorrow sometime.  Go grab ’em if you haven’t yet.

In which om nom nom buy books

unnamedI baked!  And I did not bake failure for once!

For the next three hours or so, both of my novels will be $1.99.  For the rest of the day after that, Skylights and The Sanctum of the Sphere will be $2.99.  That’s still 40% off! The Benevolence Archives, Vol. 1 will remain 99 cents all day.

If you buy one, I will think fondly upon you while I eat cheesecake.  I may even say your name, if you tell me what it is.

School’s out! Sale! Sale! Sale! (EDIT: It’s live!)

As of right now, school ought to be ending, and all of my students ought to be going away for a couple of months, and I am probably not dead or in jail.  Let’s celebrate the end of the school year with a book sale!

Right now, until about 20 hours from now– just before noon tomorrow, in other words– Skylights, The Benevolence Archives, Vol. 1 and The Benevolence Archives, Vol. 2: The Sanctum of the Sphere will be only ninety-nine cents at the Amazon.  That’s not even a dollar!  And a dollar is not a whole lot of money!

(Well, I hope right now. Chances are it’s either already started or it will within an hour or so.  But it was supposed to start at 3!  Amazon doesn’t do clocks very well.)

Roughly every 20 hours after that, the price will go up a dollar on everything but BA 1, which is always 99 cents at Amazon.  The sale ends Saturday night, when both books go back to regular price.  So if you don’t get around to picking it up immediately, or you’d prefer to give me more than 99 cents of your money, the sale will still continue for a bit longer.

Celebrate the end of a school year with some summer reading!

(EDIT: 5:38 PM Eastern, two and a half hours late, and the sale hasn’t started.  Will update when it does.  Am growing aggravated.)

SKYLIGHTS Kindle Countdown Deal begins NOW!

Final Cover Mock Med(Note: this post is stuck to the top of the page during the sale.  Scroll down for new stuff.) Beginning now, and running until February 10th, my near-future Mars exploration novel SKYLIGHTS is on sale at Amazon.  The sale is what’s called a “Kindle Countdown Sale,” meaning that the discount is going to start off very high and slowly decrease as the week goes on.  Make your purchase now to save as much money as you can!  (And, please, do that.  If you’ve been on the fence about this one, get it at $.99, because the higher I can drive my sales numbers in the first 40 hours, the more Amazon’s algorithms will take over for the rest of the sale.   If you’ve even thought about buying this book, get it in the next 40 hours.  It should be on sale the moment this post pops; if it’s still at regular price, give it an hour or so.  I promise it’s happening.  🙂

Here’s the schedule for the sale:

8:00 AM Feb. 3rd- Midnight, Feb. 5th:  $0.99
12:01 AM Feb. 5th- 4:00 PM Feb. 6th: $1.99
4:01 PM Feb. 6th- 8:00 AM Feb. 8th: $2.99
8:01 AM Feb. 8th- Midnight, Feb. 10th: $3.99

And after midnight on the 10th, it returns to normal price.

The print edition, by the way, is $12.95, currently discounted to $11.50.  That’s not included in the sale, but feel free to buy it anyway!

Another quick note

(Yes, this is basically a repost– I’m putting it up one more time to see if I can catch anybody else.  If you’re interested in buying about four thousand comic books at substantially less than cover price, leave a note in comments and I’ll get in touch with you.)

Hey, remember this post, where I was trying to sell a whole bunch of comic books?  I’ve finally gotten everything separated out between what I want to keep and what I don’t, and unfortunately as of right now I’ve had no luck getting ahold of the fella who expressed interest on the original post.  I don’t blame him; it was months ago and for some reason people don’t like waiting forever for internet yahoos to do the stuff they say they’re gonna do and get back to you.

Anyway, I feel like there was at least one more nibble in comments somewhere (which I can’t find, or I’d have emailed you already), and maybe there’s somebody who’s not aware that I’m trying to move a large number of unwanted pieces of paper who hasn’t seen it yet.

Check the original post, if you like, and drop me a line if you’re interested.
