The view from my hotel window: South Bend, IN

It ain’t much, and it’s mostly my reflection, but the room has wi-fi and heat, neither of which my actual house has, nor will it until late tomorrow morning at the earliest and possibly not until Monday afternoon.

So. Here we are.

  1. I hate it when I am scared to lose power. Regardless of the season, it’s a bad thing. Right now it’s cold and wet and dark out so that’s not good. And in the summer when it’s over 100 degrees, not good then either. But here, in the mobile home park where I live, we are on well water so when we lose electricity, we lose the pump that brings us water from the well so we end up with no water. For anything. Not for drinking. No for bathing. Not for cooking. Not for flushing the potty! I’m lucky that I have two daughters that are within a half hour drive so I can escape there and hope they don’t end up with no power!
