FINAL COVER REVEAL: TALES FROM THE BENEVOLENCE ARCHIVES
My entire life nowadays is just looking at things and saying holy shit over and over and over and over. Jamie Noble Frier is absolutely the real goddamn deal, guys. And while you’re at it, do not sleep on that blurb at the bottom there. Michael J. Martinez blurbed my goddamn book. WHAT IS HAPPENING.
Release date on this one real soon. For now, you can pre-order Balremesh and Other Stories for just 99 of your human Americapennies. That one will be out July 5! My birthday! Preordering is like giving me a present!

AN ANNOUNCEMENT
I just finished the first draft of the final story of Tales from the Benevolence Archives, guys. That doesn’t mean the book is done– there’s several of them unfinished– but I know how everything ends, now, and the rest of it will be cake.
Go grab the first volume, if you haven’t already, and start getting ready.

I’ve not written anything in the last few days, mostly because my options were “paralyzing anger” and “more paralyzing anger.” Today upgraded everything to “so angry I can’t breathe,” and rather than indulge myself in that at the moment I’m just going to put a bunch of my books up for free. I’ve done a Star Wars Day promotion pretty much every year since my first book came out; I completely flaked on it this time. Let’s fix that.
Tomorrow and Saturday only, all four of my books will be free on Amazon. I don’t think I’ve done all four at the same time before. Check them out:

In case you were wondering
I am still not at all looking forward to my visit to Denver, which is now barely over a week away. The picture is probably overstating things, as I have nothing against the town itself other than not wanting to go there but whatever. My regional manager mentioned to me the other day that he’d see me there, and once I confirmed that was true he told me that “everything I’d heard about altitude sickness was true” and told me to expect a solid week of headaches, dehydration, sore throats and getting out of breath every time I exert myself a little tiny bit. This from the guy who wanted me to be excited about the trip.
Whee.
Apparently posting the book cover for the next Benevolence Archives book yesterday flipped some sort of Author Switch in me, because I made additional progress toward actually making Tales a real thing this evening. To wit: I emailed a Real Author of my acquaintance and asked him if he’d be willing to contribute a blurb to the cover. This was a bit of a Keanu moment, honestly.

I will, of course, report back if he agrees to provide said blurb. I can think of reasons why he might say no (all entirely legitimate and fair, mind you) but in the meantime let’s all cross our fingers.
COVER REVEAL: Vol. 3 of The Benevolence Archives, Whatever I End Up Calling It
I have no idea when this book is going to be finished or come out, and the typography isn’t finalized (neither is the title) but, courtesy of The Noble Artist, here you go.

BLOGGING!
Today was– this is kind of hard to believe, but it’s true– one of my first moments where one of my friends was in town and we had to come up with activities to Entertain our Kids while they were here, because we’re all adults with kids now. She has a six-year-old who I haven’t seen in forever and a three-year-old who I met for the first time today, and luckily the three of them appear to have gelled together perfectly well.
An excellent suggestion for this sort of scenario: take the kids to the local House of Bounce, especially since it’s Friday afternoon and we are going to be the only ones there. Having a big room with four giant inflatables in it is really awesome; the kids can run about to their hearts’ content and exhaust themselves, which means that we get to spend the rest of the afternoon… uh, staring into devices and such. Like grown-ups.
For those of you who have read my books: who the hell knows when the next Benevolence Archives book is going to get done. It’s been languishing for, literally, months. I know what else I have to write, I just haven’t done it, because <insert excuse here.>
But the cover is done. It’s been done for a while.
Anybody wanna see it?
