I can’t see what model HP MFP that is or if it’s an inkjet or a laserjet. If it’s a laserjet, your fuser could be going up. If it’s an inkjet, the problem could be humidity or you need a heavier weight paper. That’s all I got. (I work for a printer and copier service and supply company in my day job)

It’s a laser; M1217nfwMFP. God, HP’s gadget names are ridiculous. About exactly a year old; not used a whole lot as I just replaced the starter cartridge, although the paper-rolling issue started before that happened.

“About exactly a year old.” Uh oh, find out for sure because HP’s on site (beginning at the date it is purchased) warranties are one year. I’m sure you registered it online when you bought it so as long as you have time left on that warranty, it’s worth having it checked out. I can’t see the fuser going up if you hardly use it. They usually last a while as long as you aren’t killing the machine by printing too much. Check the settings though to make sure it’s not running too hot. Ha! There’s actually a “less paper curl” setting. Activated that and flipped the stack of paper over and printed a test page with minimal issues. Fascinating. Why would you NOT want that on? 😉

Awesome! It is probably going to run a little cooler now on that setting. Just watch what paper you use too. Less heat in that fuser means the ink doesn’t get heated up as much to stick to the page. You should be fine though as long as you’re using plain old white paper. 🙂 Congrats! You’re a printer tech now! lol

Just an FYI, if there are other people sharing this printer with you, the paper curl could be their fault! I was at work the other day and had to open a new ream of paper because someone had thrown the half-used ream onto a pile of junk that was uneven. It sat there for who knows how long, got curled, and then got eaten in the printer! Ugh…

Watch out for Paper Trolls. They’re a species not unlike LAN Pixies, only instead of stealing digital files for nesting materials, they try to set up house in printers and copiers.

I have a special attachment that does that paper crunch/curl. It’s called the cat.
