Oh my God. Fuck the people whose job it was to ensure he grew up as healthy and whole as possible after that tragedy. Fuck the systems designed to destroy the rest of his life.
The kid still made shitty choices but goddamn I wish I could just hug him and love on him the way he deserves to be loved.
And the other kids? I don’t know what happened there, but I wish I could hug them too, for all the same reasons.
