And I am inoculated. Finally.
It is rare that I feel like things are going completely smoothly so I like to issue praise when they do— the clinic was supposed to start at 9:00, and as I was arriving, roughly fifteen minutes early, there were people leaving already. It is just now 9:00 and I have had my shot and am in one of the Don’t Die Please chairs. This place is so well-oiled it is glistening.
Now if I can just avoid major side effects today…
I have my fingers crossed for you!
I had one of my regular checkups with my Oncologist, who practically beat me about my head and shoulders with the fact that since he is treating me with cancer drugs and actively seeing me, I am indeed eligible for the vaccine. I thought I had to be in chemo to be eligible, but apparently I am wrong. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. I have an appointment for the first shot next Tuesday.

Excellent! Four hours later, no particular sign of side effects. Hopefully your shots go smoothly.

I got mine two weeks ago, the pharmacy tech had to remind me my asthma made me eligible. I got the J&J shot which is one and done. I had a headache the rest of the day and a sore arm the next day but that was it.
