  10. LOL, I just love being a minion. The about page seems the best place for this. thought about shooting you an email, but nah! This random public communication thing has worked for us for months, and I’m a firm subscriber to the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy.

    I know you’re keeping up with the transition. Thanks for that.

    I’m just stopping by to say where are you with the Benevolence Archives and would you like me to review it sometime in the next couple of months? Without going into a lot of detail about my life, I had a hard couple of years financially right before I started blogging. It’s taken me six months of full employment to get to the point where I have a real phone, but now I have one, and I can download the Kindle Reader and your book to it.

    Even though we don’t collaborate, you’ve helped me out a lot. Encouragement counts when you’ve got 10 followers, and that’s about how many I had when I followed your blog. And the blogwanking is good. Every time you talk about your numbers, I learn things.

    So, if you’re planning promotions or anything in the next couple of months, we can put our heads together and I can do a couple of review posts to coincide with your promotion. I’ll need lead time to work it into my schedule, but I’m in the process of minimizing my written blogging and riding out the fall, so a couple of posts on an odd week should be no problem once I get things squared away.

    For the most part, I don’t send people unsolicited private conversations. If you want to chat about it and work up a plan, Sourcererblog AT yahoo is the place to start, or you could gmail me 🙂 I’m not that difficult to find.

Honestly, we can do it here, and the idea that you’re emailing me and wargaming out ideas for cross-promotion is one of the things I love about you, because it’s so at odds with the way I run things around here. SKYLIGHTS will be out in September; I got early color images from my artist yesterday so the cover is on its way. If you want to time it to the launch of that, go ahead, but honestly whenever you get around to it is fine too. I like to be surprised by these things. 🙂

      1. righty-o then 🙂 A surprise it shall be. I have to get through to Labor Day first (the beginning of the semester is killing me), but I’m giving it the read — love that I can read on the phone when I’m sitting around in waiting rooms and such.

      I enjoyed reading your creepy children’s cartoon reviews and had a recommendation. I came across a quirky little cartoon recently on Netflix called Larva. The episodes are incredibly short, the characters do not talk and a few scenes are quite disturbing. Enjoy!

    Hi! I just read your essay on where you explain how Christianity works. You start by stating that, with your advanced degree, you actually DO know more about Christianity than most. I am just curious. Did you become an “infidel” (to use a pejorative monotheistic term) before, during or after you obtained your advanced degree in religion? I ask because, while I was raised in a conservative Christian home, I am no longer a Christian and THAT is because I have learned more, much more, than I ever knew as a Christian.

    I have many friends who are still Christian, but they won’t even look at some of the evidence I have seen. They’re afraid that their minds will be somehow hypnotized and they’ll be “led astray” against their will. They don’t understand that if their beliefs can be so easily swayed, their likely not grounded on truth. Anyway, just curious if you trace your lack of belief in Christianity to the knowledge you gained post-graduate. From what I have seen, the three monotheistic Abrahamic religions are built on assumption and perpetrated by the ignorance the devout have of the inconsistencies their belief systems hold. It’s very sad.
